An Act of Prophetic Intercession

"Enlarge the place of your tent, and let the curtains of your habitation be stretched out;hold not back, lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes..."    (Isaiah 54:2)

Inspired by Isaiah 54:1-4, CIP went on a prayer journey to prayer for Canada at the 'Four Corners' of Canada, leading up to the Canadian Prayer Assembly that took place in Winnipeg, Manitoba on May 19th, 2001. The four governmental areas chosen were: Victoria, BC; Whitehorse, Yukon; Iqaluit, Nunavut; and Pele Point, Windsor, Ontario.  We then converged on the centre of Canada - Winnipeg - for the CPA.

For many years intercession was considered the work of elderly ladies in our congregation. As we begin the 21st Century however, God is calling all those who will, to join Him for such a time as this. The following is some practical applications for making your call real.

Jim W. Goll in his book, Kneeling on the Promises, talks about the need to "close the door on the backlash of spiritual warefare" (pg. 249). The following is a prayer Goll offers up after engaging in a powerful encounter with the enemy.

 Let us begin by being honest with each other. Prayer is sometimes dull, difficult, and spasmodic for everyone, including us pacesetters! Why is this? To understand the problems is to proceed with greater effectiveness in helping others on to concerted prayer.
