June 2009: From the River

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

I thank God for all of you who are praying for our great nation of Canada. I find that the more I connect with intercessors from across the country, the more I realize that the enemy does not want us to pray, PERIOD. He seems to go to any extreme to keep us from meeting together, stepping out in faith and walking in unity. I guess it’s because he knows that when we do, God commands His blessing. (Psalm 133) Let me ask you this question, “Do you really know that when you (as a believer) dwell together in unity (brotherly love with another) that God has no other choice by to let His blessings flow? My prayer is that the whole church in Canada will walk in this truth, crossing all age categories, denominational lines and gender divisions. When we do, we will see many people come to Christ. We will see the dreams and visions God’s given us for our lives come to pass, and YES we will see revival in Canada!

Last month at the First Friday Prayer Meeting God laid it on our hearts to pray for all the intercessors stationed throughout the country, and I truly believe that He is your biggest cheerleader right now. He see’s you, He knows you, and hears your prayers. He has even collected all your tears in a bottle, and recorded it in his book. (Psalm 56:8) I urge you, remain strong and courageous!

Prayer Warriors, I want to share a quick story and a verse with you that God has laid on my heart for June. Two years ago, I was helping out at a youth group, and the youth pastor was preaching a sermon series on the passage in James 2:18 – 26 that says, “Faith without works is dead.” When I sat in on the sermon I said to my “righteous” self, “I don’t need to hear that word, I have got everything under control. I pray, I read, I fast, sometimes,” and as I kept listening to the word of God, He was gently tugging at my heart trying to get my attention. Well by the time the sermon ended and the youth pastor called up all the leaders to pray with the kids I could barely see. Why? Because in that moment God broke my heart, He said, “Crystal, you can have all the faith you want, you can pray up a storm and you can even prophecy, but if you don’t have works…deeds…actions, then your faith is dead”. I was trying to pray for our young people that night, but God was doing a work in me instead! From that day on I have never been the same because I want nothing but live faith – where others look at my life and know that there is a God because of my good deeds.

Prayer Warriors, I know that God is calling His church in Canada to action. God has called us to have dominion on this earth because of Jesus Christ, and if you have faith, but no works then your faith is dead. But faith complimented with works is alive!

The following is a brief report from believers in Winnipeg who have been working together to fulfill ‘The Love Winnipeg project’ (Unity, and faith and actions!).

Children gave out hampers and prayed with recipients. The children had gathered the food themselves by going door to door in their neighborhood, then returned to give out food in the inner city. The people receiving were thrilled to see the children (ages 5-12) come to their door with the hampers!

We will be highlighting a full report on The Love Winnipeg project in episode 3 of Revival TV that is coming soon, so please stay tuned!

Keeping the faith alive,
