Greetings Canada’s Kneeling Army,
I pray that your summer has been blessed with a deeper intimacy and understanding of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Friends, as I travel across the country and read my emails, I am getting a very vivid picture of the great intensity which exists in the realm of spiritual warfare in our nation, and it is requiring even a greater power to experience breakthrough. Intercessors, this is no surprise, as eleven years ago Canada In Prayer was called into existence by Almighty God for such a time as this. CIP maintains and is totally convinced that Canada is in desperate need of prayer for every aspect of society, and we continue to agree to call the whole church in Canada to pray. God’s timing and wisdom is so evident as I see His footprint in preparing us to be ready. Our nation has a large land mass, and through technology God has continued and will continue to provide the information that is essential as prayer fuel to link believers together in the power of corporate agreement.
This First Friday, I want to challenge each of you to personally re-enlist and gather others in your sphere of influence to pray and fast for the next twelve months for the continual spiritual transformation of your province, your community, your church, and your family. Scripture reminds us that in order for us to prepare for battle, there must be a clear and legible sound on the trumpet. By God’s grace, we here at CIP have stayed focused on our nation’s transformation and have been a clear and consistent voice to call Christ’s disciples to stand in the gap and P.U.S.H. – Pray until something happens!
Matthew 18:18-19 will provide some valuable encouragement as you set your face like flint for the next twelve months. Jesus says in verse 19, “Again I tell you, if two of you on earth agree (harmonize together, make symphony together) about whatever they may ask, it will come to pass and be done for them by the Father in heaven.” (verse 19 AMP) Friends, what is Jesus referring to in verse 19 when he says, “again I tell you”? I’m glad you asked! Let’s take a look at verse 18. It says “I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (NIV) Jesus was not referring here to some kind of torture – “binding and loosing” – but he was reminding us that a decree is an official command. The establishment of a “thing” in an aggressive way, or issuing an official order. A decree is a decision of a king or a government. Jesus our Redeemer has given us the authority as intercessors to be His representatives here on earth, for His glory. How do we do this? By corporately praying in the power of agreement, we are exercising our delegated authority to enforce God’s heavenly decree concerning what has been bound and loosed on earth by virtue of the finished work of Christ. Matthew 18:18 clearly states an order and the force of law behind it.
Intercessors, my prayer is that by me reminding you this month of who you are in Christ, you will not only re-enlist in this supernatural army, but that you will shake off the lies of unbelief, fatigue, and frustration, and remember that you can issue decrees today and supernatural things will happen in our nation and in your personal lives!
In Agreement,
Brian Warren
Executive Director, CIP
