Greetings Canada’s Kneeling Army!

Happy New Year! (Jewish New Year)  A New Year is always characterized by a letting go of yesterday and celebrating a new beginning.  Our theme and focus for 2009/2010 is “Called to Worship”;  Revelation 19:6-10, “And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! 7 Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” 8 And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. 9 Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.” 10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Our God, “The Ancient of Days”, is declaring His sovereignty across Canada and the world, and He is summoning His servants and corporate body to Worship Him in 2010.

What is worship? Worship has to do with “Estimation”, similar to the appraisal of a jewel or item of great worth.  How we estimate Almighty God’s immeasurable majestic worth, intercessors, translates to reverent “worth-ship”Praise has to do with “Articulation”; the way we verbalize and live out our personal reverent devotion to our God.  But both mean to give God esteem – to commend Him highly. John 4:23-24, “But the time is coming—it has, in fact, come—when what you're called will not matter and where you go to worship will not matter.  23-24"It's who you are and the way you live that count before God. Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That's the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship. God is sheer being itself—Spirit. Those who worship him must do it out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration.”(The Message)

Worship comes from the Greek word, “proskuneo”… It is a compound word with two meanings put together; Pros: towards and Kuneo: to kiss… Worship means to kiss towards.

Praise secures victory! 2 Chronicles 20:15-22 (Jehoshaphat v Moab and Ammon):  “Praise became the song of the supernatural”. Psalm 149:6-9; Praise, coupled with the declaration of God’s Word, bound the enemy in chains.  The devil’s most common methods of attack are to bring discouragement, negativity, hopelessness, and despair into our lives – to paralyze us from within.  That is the very strategy that was employed against the children of Israel when they were on the very thresh hold of the promised land (Numbers 13:17,14:1-3). The report was so spiritually distorted that the children of Israel lifted up their voices and wept for fear, so much so that they forgot that it was Ancient of Days who was protecting them the whole time. Remember, intercessors, Proverbs 18:21: “Life and death are in the power of the tongue.”

Praise and worship must be an intercessor’s weapon of choice, always professing that a breakthrough is on the way if I maintain my focus. The devil’s primary motivation is to get our eyes off of God. If that’s what he’s about in your life, then the best way to deal with him is to start praising your God, “The Ancient of Days”. Get your eyes back on the greatness of God and declare His praises!  Sing and shout of His love, and His faithfulness, and His goodness, and His mighty power.  And you will watch and see the enemy flee. His power of discouragement, “his lies”, will be broken!  Hallelujah!  Praise secures victory!

This First Friday of October 2009, as we take our positions in prayer and intercession for the spiritual transformation of this precious land we love and live in – Canada – let us corporately answer the “Call to Worship” and Purpose to Praise “The Ancient of Days”! Hebrews 13:8: “Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is [always] the same, yesterday, today, [yes] and forever (to the ages)”. God inhabits praise!

Father, help me to listen more and do what you are requiring of me.

Canada at a Glance

God is continuing to pour out His Spirit upon an urban mission in Toronto.   13 street men requested bibles! A Turkish Muslim, a Jewish man and a young man from Columbia gave their lives to the Lord.  A girl was healed of pink eye, and a woman reported her cancer is gone after receiving prayer!  God will deliver us when we call upon His name!
