Don't Give Up!

Praying Mom’s,

Do you ever feel so frustrated that you just want to give up? Everything just seems insurmountable? Feeling unqualified, inadequate for the tasks that God has given you? Do you feel you’re riding an emotional roller coaster? Fighting feelings of condemnation and doubt daily? How many times have you repeated “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” but wonder why it’s not sinking in? Does a quiet corner curled up in the fetal position seem appealing to you?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions then you are in the heart of a battle! But where is the battle being played out? Right between your ears! Scientists say we have anywhere from 2,000 to 4,000 thoughts per day. How many are positive and how many are negative? Moms, when thoughts of fear and doubt bombard our minds, we must make the decision to cast down that type of thinking. 2 Corinthians 10:5 says, “cast down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.” How do we cast it down? By being aware of the thoughts that pop into our minds, we are purposely guarding our mind and thoughts.

Be aware of your thoughts; determine where each one came from. It may seem tedious, but it’s a process. Ask yourself, “Have I been entertaining negative thoughts that are affecting my feelings and the decisions I make and even how I speak?” Proverbs 23:7 says “for as a person thinks in his heart, so is he.” In Romans 8:5 it says “those who live according to the flesh are controlled by its unholy desires set in their minds but those controlled by the desires of the Spirit set their minds and seek those things which please the Holy Spirit.” Our thoughts come first, leading the way to our actions. Unfortunately, the enemy of our soul knows this and seeks to control us through influencing our minds. If he can first control our minds then he can control how we respond.

Romans 12:2 promises that when we renew our minds according to God’s word we will experience the good and acceptable and perfect will of God for our lives. Don’t take ownership of every thought that you think: review it and if you know it comes against the will of God, rebuke it by saying “I will not believe that lie”. Be intentional in how you think. It is a process and it will take time to re-program your thoughts. But praise God, we have God on our side and He desires for our minds to be reprogrammed from a carnal fleshy mind to the mind of Christ. So, invite God to have control of your thoughts. It will take time to fully surrender. But don’t give up!

Prayer Devotion

“God speaks in the silence of the heart. Listening is the beginning of prayer." - Mother Teresa

Prayer

Father, help me to listen more and do what you are requiring of me.

Canada at a Glance

God is continuing to pour out His Spirit upon an urban mission in Toronto.   13 street men requested bibles! A Turkish Muslim, a Jewish man and a young man from Columbia gave their lives to the Lord.  A girl was healed of pink eye, and a woman reported her cancer is gone after receiving prayer!  God will deliver us when we call upon His name!
